The claim is that the "worst" is that these people (who live in a world where bonuses are expected) will bail on AIG and then it will definately collapse. Since we have already decided that they are "too big and important to allow to collapse", this would destroy the economy.

Now, I am a bit unclear as the where these "critical employees" would flee, given the current job market, but that is supposedly the fear.

The claims that these companies will lose the "best and the brightest" people are unfounded. If they were the best and that bright, we wouldn't have to give AIG and other companies over 1 trillion dollars.
