Week
Mostly SCA stuff. Read on if you care.
The few weeks have been somewhat uneventful. Saturday, a few of us from my (SCA) household went up to Newcastle to cut wood for this coming Pennsic. We might go back again on the 21st (after I help _subdivisions_ and cr_alexander move) to finish cording the cut wood, have a small practice, and of course eat and drink stuff. The weekend before that was Canterbury Tales, which was an event themed after the Canterbury Tales. There was rattan and rapier fighting, but I only got to fence in the tournament (which I won), because eating took longer than I expected. The event was put on to celebrate the elevation of a local cook (Master Alastar) into the ranks of the Pelicans. Good guy.
This Saturday is the Coronation of Rurik and Angelik, which means it will be Queen's Rapier Championship. I'm looking forward to it, since Queen's Rapier tournaments usually bring out people I don't get to fight often enough. The weather should cooperate and warm up for the weekend, but we will see about things as the week goes on. I also rather like Rurik and Angelik, so I am happy they are going to be King and Queen this summer.
Non-SCAdian related: We are looking for someone at work, because my coworker Dane (for those of you who have met him) decided to follow his Wanderlust and move on. There are apparently 3 people looking to take his place, which needs to happen soon. We had too few people to begin with for my taste.
