Fantasy football

I joined a random Yahoo! fantasy football league (this one had 10 teams) because I wanted to try it out. I figured since I enjoyed the fantasy baseball, this would be fun, too. With few exceptions, I might as well have been throwing darts at names when I picked people to draft.
By chance, I got first pick in the draft, so I took Peyton Manning. Excellent choice, those of you who know fantasy football say, although you probably would have chosen LaDainian Tomlinson. I didn't even know who that was, let alone think to pick him. Well, you get the idea about my draft. I relied mainly on Yahoo! rankings, but also stuck in people I thought were good players.
I won my first game, and then proceeded to lose 6 of the next 7 games. 2-7. Just Pitiful. Apparently, I just don't understand how fantasy football works.

But wait. There's more.

It took me over half the year, but I finally caught on to how the thing works. In the Yahoo! league, wide receivers (wr) and running backs (rb) make or break you. Quarterbacks help to be sure, but there are enough QBs who score points in a 10-team league that drafting one in the first round is a waste. I did enough smart switches and had enough luck that after starting 2 - 7, I won the next 5 games, finished 7-7, and had scored enough points over the season to come in third place. Thank you Giants and Bengals for giving the ball to your rbs so much. :) 2 more weeks will decide who wins the league.
