For my first entry, I thought I'd write about something quite relevant in my opinion.
Climate change, a topic you can’t avoid these days, it’s poring from the TV, newspapers, the Internet, pretty much all media. Why? Because it’s an important issue, one that needs to be taken seriously, because lets face it, the fucking icebergs are melting, and global warming isn’t just a myth.
So, what are some things we, “normal” people (and that’s with apostrophes because normal is a relative concept) can do to prevent climate change? Now I’m not saying these are the only ways to live more economically, just some suggestions.
- For one, use public transports such as buses and trains instead of your new Hummer
- Recycle your trash for example to glass, plastic, and paper
- Buy your clothes from flea markets and big shopping centers rather than using a lot of money on expensive designer clothes (forget the question “Who are you wearing?”)
- Use about 5 minutes in the shower instead of lathering yourself for a half an hour
- When you’re not watching the TV, turn it off. When you are not using a room in your home, switch off the lights
- I can’t think of anything else right now :D
That was my little list, but one other thing popped into my mind. Yeah, there are a lot of people worried about our planet(such as me), and passionated (I’m not sure if ‘passionated’ is a word, but it’ll work) on doing their best to help the environment. But do you really think about all that, when you’re driving to work on a cold morning? Or just got a new really cool (and expensive) technical device, when you could have used the money for something more important than yourself? No, not many people do think about it (such as myself :F). And it’s a shame.
This concludes my first little rant, hope it opened your eyes and gave you a heads up.
