At Mike's house because we're going out with some folks later but...
Uhh... yeah. Want to hear something that hardcore bites?
Since yesterday around 5pm, the vast majority of the RIC campus has been without electricity.
That's right. No electricity. There are certain buildings that are on backup generators so they have lights and whatnot, but sadly, the dorms are not amoung these buildings. Yeah. Everyone's room is completely dark. The main lights in the hallways and in the suite are on, but there's no electricity in anyone's rooms or the bathrooms, plus not a single outlet works. I took a shower in the dark this morning. That was reeeeeeaaaaal fun. Couldn't dry my hair so I went out with it wet. Hopefully I won't find myself sick later on because of it. You know what else sucks? Donovan is also not one of the buildings on backup. So there's no real food (not that Donovan is real food persay, but you know what I mean). Unless you eatt and spend money, you're stuck eating whatever's in your room. Keep in mind that as I said, none of the outlets work so there's no microwave. No vending machines. I bet all the icecream in that machine has melted by now. Ick. Because you know what? All the yogurt that I bought and put in my fridge on Wednesday night... all bad. I hadn't even eaten one container yet.
So who knows when there will be power again. One of the few nice campus police guys that we have told Mike that a transformer blew and that Naragansett Electric has nothing to do with it because "it's the school's problem," therefore, it's the school that has to fix it. That's scary. Hardcore. Because leaving it up to the school to fix things never gets anything done quickly/efficiently, if at all.
But yeah... crappiness.
It damn well better be fixed by the end of the day tomorrow because registration for spring classes starts on Monday morning.
