i think it's about time i blogged again coz it's been too long and my site is starting to collect dust again!
there's so much i wanna talk about, about my fundraising, about my preparation for panama, about all the training that i feel like God is giving me...
i had the best skype conversation with hilda yesterday (haha ok, every skype conversation i've had is good :P) and it was just so awesome to be able to talk to her and catch up on each other's lives :) every time we talk i feel like we can just go on forever...and talking about God is just so natural! that's what true fellowship is about, that's what a church is :D this is the kind of fellowship God wants us to have amongst each other, to build one another up in the Word and to encourage each other in the trials and lessons we're facing. everytime i talk to her i feel like we're learning more about God and His kingdom :) and i'm glad we have the foundation of our friendship in the Lord because i know for sure that our friendship will keep going even after we go to heaven!
and she said that God brings different people into different stages of our lives and it's so true. even though we're from 2 different countries, God brought us both into Japan at the same time and she's become a strong pillar of my support. now i'm in a different stage of my life again and i'm meeting ppl in c4c who are becoming my support too :) God is good! sometimes it's crazy to think how He takes care of even the tiniest details in our lives...it's amazing! but that's God for you!
i really wanted to blog about all the things i've been learning, just coz i know that when i record them down, i can go back and read them again and not forget God's kindness and all the things He's done for me. but i do tend to get really long-winded and it really has been a while since i wrote so it'll end up being a really long post if i wrote them all now >< but one thing i'll write about today is my fundraising recently :)
so just a background for you, i needed to raise $4500 for my mission trip and being asian and all that, money's just a pretty sensitive issue for me. i'm not used to asking ppl for money and i always feel that ppl in my church might not be as willing to give because i go to a chinese church...and to make things worse i found out that i had to send in a $1500 deposit to the headquarters with less than 2 weeks notice. meaning i didnt even get two sundays to pass the letters out to ppl in my church and get them back the following sunday...but i did the best i could and mailed about 12 letters and passed 8 to my friends in school to pass to their parents as soon as i found out. then on saturday i called alot of ppl and it was just really not working out because lots of ppl have apparently only gotten my letter on friday, or i wasnt able to get a hold of them. by saturday night i was freaking out really bad that i won't be able to raise my funds...and even more disappointed with myself for lacking faith that God will provide for me. if i didnt even have enough faith that God will provide for me financially, how will i have the faith that God will use me in Panama? but God is good and He sees what i was going through. on sunday i had only managed to raise about $700 and i was pretty stumped...but that night i went to a worship night at a friend's place and recommitted everything to God. i believe that everything was in His hands. on monday a friend of mine met up with me and passed me a package, telling me to open it at home. then she asked me how my fundraising was going and i told her how it wasn't going very well and things are just really stuck for me, especially when i didnt have the chance to get my cheques from people before the dateline. and she told me that actually on Friday, she felt an urging from God to give me money and sponsor me on my trip, and to the extent that she shld empty her wallet and give me all her money because i needed it. mind you i havent even passed a letter to this friend and she had no idea that i was in need. so i was really really encouraged because it showed that God cares and He knows that i'm going through :) even though the amount she gave didnt cover everything, it was still alot and it was God's message that really impacted me. i know that He WILL carry me through this and that it's a process that will train me to become more reliant on Him :)

god,
