I was chatting with slyviolet this evening about Neovictorianism/steampunk, and for one reason or another we ended up discovering the eternal majesty (and hilarity) of Victorian-era erotic literature. Of course, as you would expect from two linguists, we honed in on word-usage. Apparently, the word "frig" (as in "this is frigging awesome!") originally had a more specific meaning than a replacement for "fuck", and instead was used to refer exclusively to the act of masturbation, either self-imposed, or mutual. Other fabulous terms: "cock-stand" (erection), and "Mr. Priapus". Lulz.
