Hey all! Just got back from Portland! And what a story to weave! (albeit full of walking and pain =P) Got some cheap tickets, decent hotel, and went! First we went to Seattle for a bit. I was tempted to contact Nick, for we had 3 hours till our next flight, but alas, i couldn't recall his number! Bought a book instead (Bloodwalk) Oh well. Had cheap chinese food and listened to my iPod for a few hours.  After waiting for a while, we finally  were allowed to board. At least lauren and i had seats together.  As i was flying there, i listened to the snakes on a plane soundtrack and was amused for the journey. Landed in the oregon airport, took the MET redline down to downtown(rail systems are so freaking cool, i could definetally live some place like that), walked a few blocks to reach our place of rest. checked in the hotel, dropped the stuff off (we only had 2 carry on bags between the 2 of us) and rested for about 25 min.    Wandered downtown for a bit looking for food. Found a great little place called steamers. Boa are one of my favorite foods now. Went back to the hotel around dark, and pretty much slept. Next day, we got up, grabbed a boa on our way to the MET, and went to the Japanese Gardens. Freakin' gorgeous. Very artful. Lauren bought some pretty koi earrings. The we went down near china town and found a GREAT chinese place. We both order different types of seafood, and all of it was delicious. I also now know i like jasmine tea. Hooray. we then went home a crashed due to all of the exercise. This morning we went to saturday market. Lots of shops. Standard things. I bought a small pack of insence sticks, "the thai way" according to the shopkeeper.  Ate an elephant ear and a cheese steak sandy-witch. lots of food, but it was a breakfast and lunch combined. after that, we went to powells bookstore. Lauren picked up a mini-cthulhu and i picked up the Zombie Survival guide. Endless amusement, though i am going to HAVE to start preparing for the Zompocolypse.  After that good smelling bookstore, we went to get pizza and fly back. Despite the lateness of depature, we mad it back before midnight. hooray!

All in all, a great trip and an even greater experience. The ppl there were mostly friendly, with a few exceptions. talked to lots of other ppl, of all races and ages. I had a blast!

Hope to see some of you ppl soon (though sunday i have dnd)
