ALL ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER
Name: Vexen; Organization XIII's Number IV, the Frozen Scholar
Game:  Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Re:CoM
Point in Canon: Post-Death.

History/Background: if you're lazy, link to a wiki. ff wikia or kh wikia are fine and dandy.

Seriously? They are? Good, because that saves me a lot of trouble.

Differences from Canon, however, include:

~Part of his motivation behind the Replica Project, and even his continued research, was to create Artificial Hearts for those that he cared about as Even, to some extent. Had mild success, surprisingly, with the Replica that was considered his failure--Number Zero, the Riku Replica.

~His last name; he has one. It's Calder. He even has a semi-concrete past that is being retconned by this mun to include BbS, though considering how little Vexen talks about his past, let along thinks about it? No spoilers should come around, but muses have a way of sneaking things up on the mun. Regarding the last name, don't expect anyone to be given it.

Personality: Hm... how to describe Vexen? He's a jerk. A cold, calculating, dismissive jerk that apparently loves to hear himself talk. Of course, this is just the tip of the iceburg (haha, made a pun).

First and foremost, Vexen is aware of just how smart he is, and if he's dealing with someone he thinks is beneath him, or someone he knows has a lesser intellect, he will not hesitate to remind you. If he finds himself impressed by something you've said or done, prepare to get a backhanded compliment. His casual observations fall into this line as well, and if he's teaching you? Be prepared to hear not only good information, but him patiently telling you how you fail, if you don't pick up on things fast enough. (Ask Roxas about this; he can tell you.) If you have gotten a compliment out of him that isn't backhanded? Congrats; you've either impressed him enough that he sees your intellect as something equaling his own, or you've gained some form of respect from him.

He does know how to be 'nice', or at least nice for him. If you're a fellow scientist that isn't like him, personality-wise? He'll gladly trade theories and swap knowledge with you. It might even be a pleasant experience, since there would be a notable lack of insults and speculations as to whether you were dropped on your head as an infant.

The only beings that one can say Vexen remotely 'cares' for, if he had the capacity to do so, would be the Replica's. He's incredibly proud of his work, and as they are the fruit of his labors--prototype and first model respectively--he does 'care' about their well-being, sort of. He prefers to have them fully-functioning, and cooperative if he wishes to run a diagnostic on their performance or requires insight on their development. The fact that they have developed a sense of self intrigues and excites him to no end (or would, if he had a Heart), and he would not wish to see the progression of the depth of their 'selves' hindered. He will be defensive and highly protective of them, and if you mess around with them with the intent to take them apart to see how they tick? You will have a very 'angry' cryomancer-Nobody on your case. Because you can't mess with the results of HIS research, dammit.

First-Person Sample:

Of all the things I expected any sort of plausible afterlife to be, a town run by the Superior was not one of them. That this is not a form of afterlife intrigues me, as I cannot ascertain any sort of purpose with bringing such a large group of sentients together, let alone bringing some back from oblivion.

The very fact that I was brought back from the nothingness is puzzling; perhaps I am not the only one that had to die to be transported to this location. Again, it brings me back to the question of why, though figuring out the how is a puzzle worth solving.

I can only hope I am allowed to continue my research into the creation of a Heart in peace.

Third-Person Sample:  The bed was comfortable enough, and the room fairly spartan in its decorative scheme, but Vexen didn't need much in the way of comforts for any room he would be staying in. He'd have to change a few things, but it suited his purposes well enough.

It needs a bookshelf, he thinks idly. And a writing desk. He didn't doubt for a second he would be spending a great deal of time in this room, conducting research and taking notes. At least there would be no chemical experiments taking place in this room; he didn't need Number II shooting him in the foot for some hyped up offense.

However, the garments in his closet would have to be discarded. Preferably burned, or stashed in another unclaimed room.

"Who in their right mind wears lederhosen, anyways?"

application: never was
