Lena, The Escape, and Koreans.

Went into guitar lessons Saturday, and change the strings on my electric, as well as polishing my baby down. I love that thing so much. It's my number one prized possession.

So, yesterday was Lena's 17th birthday. I picked her up from Mural Camp in Portland, with the help of my sister's guidance, and then came back to Gresham. Lena and I hung out at her house, after I gave her gift to her. She liked it. A lot. It made me feel really happy about both myself, and us. Listened to Coldplay. I really like that band. A few hours later Alex Cox showed up and we all hung out. He smokes a bit, though... hard for me to be around those who do. And with his cigarrettes he is a bad influence on others... even though I really do like him *sigh*. We eventually hung out with Alex's friend Adam, who also is into the drug scene (in my opinion... a very strong opinion... drugs only serve to raise us on a high pedestal, one that WILL topple over in time. One way, or another). We went to Lena's and watched "Taxi Driver". Good movie, but I had other things on my mind at the point of watching it. Lena and I got ready to go, but sadly no one else was able to come... or just didn't want to. I picked up Daymon with much confusion, but he's an awesome guy. He directed me all over Portland, and we got lost everywhere. We eventually just parked and started walking around. I have never seen so many stereotypes come to life EVER before in my existence. Portland is my living proof that what you see and hear on T.V. is actually real. But anyway, we eventually came to The Escape, after a lot of wandering around. Lena's feet were hurting her, she didn't wear the most secure shoes... they hurt her feet a lot. We went in, and of course, got checked. No chapstick allowed, they say. Tossed it away. Went in, and man, it was awesome. Daymon was too shy to dance, didn't at all for the whole... 4-5 hours that we were there. Made me feel bad, a little, because I used to be exactly like that. Not anymore, though. Lena and I danced most of the time, and yes it certainly was quite gay and it was awesome that way. There was this guy there that looked like Johnny Depp/Michael Jackson (early, hot Michael Jackson. The real Jackson). He was the sex symbol of the night. They had a drag queen show. Was nice. Then a girl and her partner went up there and told us that the guy who died saving someone elses life in the Clackamas river was their best friend, and shortly after, another friend started up drugs because of this and od'd. Very upsetting, I didn't handle it too well myself. Just sad as hell. They did their little thing, and went off on their own. I saw Denae there, she was all smiles to me like usual, which is cool. Danced some more with Lena, got stared at by this one guy. I believe that he wanted to move on in with me, but I was kind of occupied :). We left right when it ended, and went on our merry way to my car and back home. Was like 6 in the morning when I got home.

Woke up not long after, and saw a foreign film (Korean film) called "Old Boy". And to this day, it is probably the best movie I have ever seen. Just the story, how it was filmed, the twists and turns in it, the acting, and realism... it was just good. It only plays at this one theater, Hollywood Theater or something like that... but it was totally worth it. A work of art... look into it, online.

After seeing that film, going to The Escape, enduring life's little changes... and meeting new people and being with Lena, I think I've become a bit different. Life is anew. Oh yeah, I'm seeing Crosby, Stills, and Nash in concert in September. Nine Inch Nails, possibly, too. I really have a whole new perspective on shit.

Haven't eaten or drank anything in about 24 hours. I think I should get on that before I die. Be safe, my friends. I love you.
