Yesterday evening, I attended the Halloween Hootenanny, the alliterative title for a concert featuring the Murderdolls, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie. I had a good time, though I certainly do feel my age today. I honestly didn't even know that the Murderdolls had gotten back together, but
Nowhere was pretty catchy live. They also did a cover of Hybrid Moments and at some point during the final song, Wednesday 13 pulled out a black umbrella with the word "FUCK" taped on to the top of it, which really made me want one of my own. Alice Cooper had a pretty elaborate stage production that tied most of the songs together in sequence. He lost his head to a guillotine, was hanged and impaled in an iron maiden, among others. They played pretty much all the songs someone would want to hear and finished with I'm Eighteen. He also had a Harley Quinn looking nurse taking a grinder to a metal crotch plate. Am I worldly enough to admit this isn't even the second time I've seen that this year?
The Zombie portion of the show was probably the most exhausting. The problem with being the tallest guy on the show floor seems to be that some women just want to get up on your shoulders. The lady that asked at the beginning of the show was like, 200 lbs. Not to say that I didn't try, but that didn't last for more than a couple minutes. I mean, I know I look like a big, beefy dude, but I'm a lazy computer geek/scientist in reality. Probably haven't hit the weights seriously since I went back to ysu, but that is neither here nor there. Later on a decidedly lighter girl came along requesting the same, which was certainly easier to handle on the beer covered floor. She seemed to like playing with my hair while up there, which probably made the whole process okay. Hair fetishism aside, she ended up dragging me around for the rest of the show. So, now every time I hear Thunderkiss '65, I will imagine a girl named Erin humping the back of my head. If that doesn't classify as a good time, I don't know what does.
I also finished Dead Rising 2 on Friday. The difficulty takes a real turn for the what the fuck once the gassed zombies show up, but I found the game to be generally enjoyable. The combo weapon ideas were the best, and generally the most useful means for dispatching psychopaths. Knife gloves (bowie knife+boxing gloves) were probably the best all arounders, especially since they can't be disarmed, and I was also particularly fond of the Defiler's (Fire axe+sledgehammer) jump attack. What I was most surprised about was the fact that I never had to restart to get through all the cases, scoops and overtime mode. Also, I was impressed that all the survivors were actually capable of surviving while running through the zombie hordes. My recommendation would probably be to wait for it to hit 20-30 range though.
