Before heading off to Amphi Festival we spent a day driving through the German Palatinates and shot at this amazing location ( Read more... )

Lovely pics! But where did you get that fabulous adornment on your forehead??? And how was Amphi?

I actually got that at Wave Gotik Treffen a couple of years ago - it's a stall at the medieval market that I always make a b-line for! I have a number of circlets from there :)

Amphi was really great, the best festival I've been to I think! I really must get round to doing a write up and posting some pictures

I quite often use an old necklace to get the same effect, pinning it into my hair with kirby grips :D

I love these, there is something of the 'fantasy film' in them, in a good way :) I like your hair and your circlet too.

I can't decide if I like 4 or 6 best, I keep chopping and changing between the two. I like the dramatic pose of 6, but I like the composition and pose of 4.

It's always nice to see your sets, I never know what to expect when I click the link!

Yes I loved both 5 and 6 so had to include them both, 4 was a last choice though, I couldn't decide whether to include it or not so I'm glad I did.

Starkall is brilliant for composition, he really has an artistic eye and a knowledge of some of the most amazing places, he's really one of my favourite photographers.

And glad to hear you never know what to expect, I really try not to become too repetitious in my work, while still maintain all the elements of the aesthetics I adore

I think you have a very comprehensive and varied portfolio. There is always a dark element to what you do, but different facets. I like that your personality is visible in some shots, but not others. There are subtle nuances of expression in some of the shots, rather than facial contortions or over-dramatised poses. I think the subtlety is the key to your portfolio not becoming repetitive.

I think in shot 4 it's the fact that you have fixed the camera in your gaze. Some people find that quite disquieting; it gives a person the feel that they're being watched. Models often don't like this, in that the subject (themselves) is looking at them. I like the boldness of that, personally.

My straight on stare was a bit of a trademark when I first started modeling. I naturally fall into my bolder, stronger characteristics when "acting" (as a child I always played the witch rather than the princess *laughs*) but through time I've learnt to bring out some of my softer sides in my pictures too :)

Speaking of varied portfolio, I must get round to shooting some of your stuff for you at some point :)

when Starkall told me we were going to a place called "the devil's table" I knew there was no other choice but to go all witchy :) It was really a lovely setting, we had to scrabble up a hill to get to it though as the surrounding area was under construction (no doubt for the erection of some gaudy tourist trap), but that's part of the fun!

And yes, see you Sunday, can't believe it's come round so quickly!

it really was, the Palatinate forests were really quite beautiful. I've been to Germany a couple of times but never really managed to take in the countryside, luckily this time was different

I have done many natural settings, although most involving flora, not really done anything more "earthy" and these wonderful rock forms certainly are

I guess the architectural can be more imposing and more of a feature in an images than the background that the organic settings provide. I think that's what is different with this setting; that although being organic, is architectural in it's formations and striking as well as imposing :)
