I will be sure we shake the mountains while we dance...

So the other day a very good friend called me and we ended up talking on the phone for a while. It was a pretty awesome conversation, and it's nice to know he cares enough to call every once in a while, but that's not what inspired me to blog.

This month has been so incredibly busy that I completely forgot my birthday was coming up until he so kindly reminded me...which I guess is kind of weird considering I never forgot my dad's birthday, and his is a day before mine.

Turning 20 is interesting. It's such an awkward, in-between age that really makes no sense to me.

I've decided I'll just be 19 for two years in a row. This time next year, I'll decide whether or not I'll want to make that three...

Anyway...

It's funny to see how my life experiences influence my writing. It's also funny to see how some experiences need no embellishment...but I took the liberty of dramatizing anyway, just for the sake of the story. We'll have to see how that goes, won't we?

It's also funny to reflect on the week that just passed and realize how close to a break down you were. This time I can admit that I didn't pull myself out of it alone, and I'm rather glad of that. Sometimes it's okay to take that helping hand someone else offers...I think I should stop pushing it away every time it's extended my way. Life would be such a beautiful thing if everyone stopped to help everyone else now and again...

Of course, it would be even more beautiful if help wasn't always taken for granted, but I'm sure that's a topic for another blog.

Instead, I'll leave you with a pretty awesome video that another good friend of mine sent my way. The interweb is a wonderful thing, isn't it? He's all the way in PQ and I'm all the way in San Marcos and yet we can still laugh about the same silly videos together.

I'll have to remember that.
