If I die tonight at least I can say I did what I wanted to do...

Tell me, how about you?

Today has been interesting, to say the least. And of course, the occurrence of interesting phenomena in an otherwise dreary world deserves celebration...which I commence with this blog.

I woke up this morning, and decided I wanted to write. As in, write something worthy of publication and admiration by more than just a handful of loyal friends and readers. I want to change the world, so to speak, and I want to do it through literature. Leave a lasting legacy to bear my name long after I've returned to dust. You know...all that good stuff =).

I have two very important people to thank for that, and I'm pretty sure they know who they are. It might be my incredibly large ego feeling compelled to believe whatever compliments they throw at me, but the fact of the matter is that I believe them when they do pass those compliments my way. These are probably the two people who have encouraged me and inspired me the most, and if anything, I want to continue my pursuit in the writing world just so I can somehow find the words to adequately tell them how thankful I am that their lives somehow entangled with mine. I mean, just a simple "you rock" doesn't really do it justice...

In any case, now the pressure is on to find my story, and as herculean a task as that is, I'm really not bothered by it [[yet, of course. expect a blog somewhere down the line where I detail my depression and wail at my inability to convey a character and whatnot...]]. I'm a strong believer in karma and fate, and fate has pointed me in this direction because I can do it. Overcoming all the obstacles in my way will just make victory all the sweeter, no? And if you know me at all, you know I've got something of a sweet tooth =).

On a different note, I saw the video for Madonna's new song with Justin Timberlake, and while I'm still not sure I've completely grasped the concept, it's flashy and fast-paced, and almost makes me wish I was Madonna. However, Janet Jackson remains my dancing IDOL. Seriously. That's not to say Madonna doesn't deliver, of course...as if she'd accept anything less, though, right? Anyway, the title for this post is a line in that song, and that line in the song is one of the things that inspired the post. I didn't really like the song as a whole at first, but I find the fondness is slowly creeping in. And I think I'm ok with that.

After all, the songs you grow to like never stick at first. =).

Let's toast to that silver lining...

PS
Madonna?
Your video's a little over 4 minutes...
You know...just saying...
