Blow your cool just like a volcano...

So, my Spring Break has started wonderfully =).

Friday, my sister finally convinced me to see Slumdog Millionaire, and I have to say, I'm really glad she did.  I don't think I could write anything to describe how awesome that movie was, except to say it deserved everything it won.

It also put my own obsessions into perspective; or maybe I'm just not that young anymore =).

Saturday was just as awesome.  I spent the whole day baking.  Literally.

...

First I (finally) made those rainbow cupcakes I've been seeing everywhere.

They were really fun to make, though a bit tedious when it came to filling the mini cupcake pans.  All in all, though, a success =)

Here's the batter:

Filling up the cupcake cups:

I just thought this would make a cool picture.  It probably would have helped if I had a better camera.  As it is, all I've got is Lancelot =) (my cell.phone).

Here are some of the finished products!
After filling all the small cups, we had a lot of batter left over, so I decided to have fun with it =)

Here's a Gryffindor cupcake I made out of the leftover red & yellow!

This is a bigger version of the mini cupcakes:

And here's an actual 7-layer one I made with all the colors; it's as close to ROYGBIV as I'll ever get with white cake batter and food coloring =P

After the mini cupcakes were cooled, I decorated them in honor of our cousin get together!

Yes those are apples; I tried to make it as Twilight-theme-like as possible for our Twilight DVD viewing party =P  Maybe next time I'll make actual faces... in any case, it was the first time I'd ever worked with homemade fondant, and I was very pleased with the results!

And, because I don't think I've posted them before, here are the chai tea cupcakes I made for last night; I didn't get a picture of the sweetened condensed milk buttercream frosting that goes with them, but how exciting can a picture of whiteish frosting be?

I also made some creme brulee, so I wouldn't waste any of the egg yolks, since both the white cake and the tea cupcakes called for only the whites.  I'll post pictures of that when I'm done putting the sugar on the top!

This is Tyler, after enjoying one of the Twilight rainbow cupcakes.  His teeth are blue, and he was proudly showing them off =).

The whole night in general was pretty frigging awesome.  Of course, I didn't really expect any less; we always have fun when we all get together, and last night definitely wasn't an exception =).  I'm pretty lucky to have cousins like mine, who can make delicious foods, and know where to get the best bundt in town =P.

Then, when I got home, I went straight to the Apple website to buy my Jasper!  I'll take pictures of that too, whenever he gets here =)

Now I'm trying to clean my room so it's not so cluttered while I'm here, and so when I come home for the weekend I won't have to worry about it.  I've been trying to clean all morning, but I got tired of it pretty quick haha and decided to update this instead =D.  I guess it's back to cleaning for me...
