Thinking I was doing the right thing by someone I consider a friend, I sent a private message to tell this person something that's quite important. And due to the sensitive nature of the information I was giving, I wanted this person to know before I said more.
I received a response from her significant other stating that I have devastated her and have destroyed months of healing for them. I was also told that even though I didn't know that my friend has been having an apparently horribly tough time, I should've known that my message would devastate her.
Yes, because that's what I do. That's the kind of person I am. I can read people's minds when they don't bother to talk to me for MONTHS (since WELL before Christmas) and KNOW that they're going to be devastated by something I say.
Then the SO goes on to say that he wishes me well, but that I should refrain from such acts in the future.

Yes I feel horrible that she is hurting, but I didn't do anything wrong and I certainly didn't do anything to cause a destruction of healing.
To say that is rude and unfair.
