Today is Red Nose Day here.
For those of you who don't know what it is, it's Sids and Kids' biggest fundraising day. They're raising funds to aid in the research of stillbirth, miscarriage, and SIDS. The biggest misconception is that Sids and Kids is only about SIDS...it's not. They help families who have lost children for any reason.
Interestingly heartbreaking fact: the number of SIDS cases has decreased over the years...but stillbirth has remained the same with over 700 stillborn babies every year.
I'm pretty sad this morning. It feels good to help the organization...but, I don't like why El and I are so involved with Sids and Kids. I hate it...and I'm really missing Thomas a lot this morning. That's not to say that I don't miss him a lot every morning, every day, and every night...it's just in the forefront of my mind today.
If you're in Australia and you happen to come across a Sids and Kids volunteer, buy a red nose. That $2 could go a long way into helping families like mine.
Thanks for listening. I'll step down from my PR box now.
xx
thomas,
