Wow. So, just downloaded "Sing" because I am a sucker and bored and it was only 99 cents and I'm looking forward to the album and all that. And just, wow. It's way poppier than I was expecting, but not bad. And the lyrics are pretty good, from what I can decipher so far.
The thing that is making me truly excited, though, is the general picture I'm getting of the whole album now. This is huge. It's painting a picture that's raw and bleeding and bleak, but not hopeless. That's what's getting my attention -- that anyone can scream about how shitty things are and how pissed off they are and how everything is going to hell, but with this album MCR is acknowledging that in addition to that, there is hope. We just have to get off our asses and do something about it. Serious kudos to the boys for having the balls to be inspirational when cynicism is so much easier. And for developing and experimenting with their sound when sticking to their old style would be so much safer.
Really looking forward to the album now. No, really really.
