Portland has a restaurant called
Duckfat that I like a great deal. As the name might suggest, much of their menu has some association with duck fat. It's down at the ass end of Middle St.
Their poutine (Belgian-style fries, fried in duck fat, with cheese curd and their own duck gravy) is the best poutine I've ever had by a wide margin. It's amazing. Great milkshakes. Awesome panini. I'd rave about those instead if it wasn't for the poutine, which is stunningly good.
The presentation is a touch pretentious for a counter-order fry shop, but the people who work there are great. I want to say the web site lies and they're actually open in the evening (though only until 8) on more days, but caveat fressor.
The subject of this entry, by the way, is a line item on their menu that I'm quite fond of, not a command. Which doesn't mean you shouldn't.
