Living for the Weekend

Feb 25, 2007 20:31

The trip to Copenhagen was great! I won't say much about it because I'd like to make a picture post later on (for real this time). Let's just say I had a great time and it's a nice city.

I haven't really done much this weekend. I worked on a couple of translations, a bit (but not enough) on my dissertation and I had a nice little Doctor Who marathon with the siblings. We watched from Dalek to Boomtown. Those six episodes include my least favourite episode of the entire series and one of my all-time favourites:

I think The Long Game would be my least favourite episode of both seasons. It's not dramatic, not funny, not epic, not scary, not ... well, not anything really. There's just nothing in it! The only good thing about it is its link with the series finale. What a waste of an episode!

Boomtown is one of my favourite and ultimate feel-good episodes. I love all the Nine/Rose/Jack banter and yes, even the three of them being all smug and obnoxious when Mickey's there. (I should feel bad for Mickey in this episode especially but I just don't. I'm still indifferent to this character in season 1.) And I love that most of the screentime does not go to fighting an alien treath. It's a fun and 'cosy' episode - I really love it.

More DW/TW.
• Those pictures of the Doctor Who filming this week made me squee like an insane fangirl (I've already accepted that I'm am just that). *sigh* I CANNOT wait for episode 11.
• When I listen to how John Barrowman pronounced my name and town on BBC Radio 2 it still cracks me up. It's not even close to right, any of it. But bless him, I love him anyway.
• The reports from the convention Gareth attended made me swoon. Scooch over John Barrowman and David Tennant, Gareth David-Lloyd might need a place on that scary Greet-is-more-than-obsessed-with-you-stage.
• Recovery is on tonight (BBC One at 9pm)! I'm going to tape it though because I have a long day ahead tomorrow (12 hours at school! well, actually that'd be 10 + 2 hours travelling).

Who-ever rec'd the Fruit Bats - I don't remember who it was but - thank you! I love them :)
