OMG. In the WB OTH Newsletter (I don't know why or when I signed up for this as I don't even watch the show, but I get it everytime): Brucas vs Naley. Aaaargh!!!! That must be the worst ship names ever! It's almost Bangel all over again. *schudder* Some ships/names should not be merged together!!!
I saw the Upside of Anger today. It was a really nice movie but I just ... I guess I had expected more. Nice and entertaining enough though. BUT it had like the worst.translation.everrrr!
A) Whole sentences were left untranslated (so not translated into Dutch) and just subtitled in English. Even when the French subtitles were there!! (In Belgium, most films have both French and Dutch subtitles). 'How do you know you're gay when you haven't tried it?' is not a fixed expression we use down here, is it? So why the feck didn't they translate it?
B) The whole translation was just weird. Sometimes it seemed like someone from the Netherlands had done it (no one in Flanders uses the word jus for juice) and sometimes there was an expression that sounded totally non-Dutch but so Flemish.

Guess who signed up for Danish classes? You're lookig at her her journal! Oy. I have no idea what to expect. Or if I will be any good (or even remotely good) at it, but I'm going to try. I can always drop it and take those lame/boring general courses instead if it's really nothing for me. Anyway, school's starting on Monday. And we still don't have our schedules! Grrrr.
