Guess who fuckin' PASSED?!?? I couldn't believe it. I was so sure I had at least 1 retake. Why? Because the teacher had told me it wasn't good enough. But nope, don't have to retake Italian Grammar afterall because all my other exams were good/ok. And get this: I was like the only one of my group (English/Italian students) that passed! Everyone else seems to have a few retakes. Ahw and kinda funny too since I'm like the worst of my class in Italian. Really. But I'm glad I passed and don't have to worry too much about school for 3 months. Yay! Will be a wise thing to review some Italian towards the end of the summer though. I passed! *dances*
Damnit, muchos good music all over the place this weekend. Live 8 and Rock Werchter. One day I'm going there, to the latter I mean. So many great bands this year.
Last week I went to a free concert of this band that my sister and cousins are so obsessed with. *cough*Spring*cough* No, you haven't heard of it - unless you're from Belgium or maybe the Netherlands? It's this band for kids mostly but I had the time and I wanted to see why everyone's so obsessed. And it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The lead singer is pretty great actually. All my aunts are always saying what a hidious guy he is ... but when he's on stage and singing and all, he does become sort of hot and he's like one bulb of energy. He's also kind of a spazz and a dork. I made
pictures for my sister because she now we are making a fansite.
So I've been watching some movies. Sin City - I honestly don't get why the hell so many people love this. Sure, the whole style was pretty and special and original, but I thought the rest ... well, sucked. The story was lame and confusing. Brittany Murphy's acting was SO bad. I didn't like Bruce Willis either. For me, the violence wasn't so over the top that it became funny/unreal like I heard so many people say. Heck, the only thing I liked about the whole movie was the hotness that is Clive Owen. And Jessica Alba. If it would have been a movie I watched on TV, I would have switched channels before half of it was over. In the end I'm glad I've seen it because I would have wondered about it for years and always wanted to watch it. Now I can say I've seen it and never have to watch it again. And Elijah will never be just Frodo anymore *shudders*.
As for the rest of the movies, those were mostly Jane Austen/Colin Firth related. I finally got my Pride & Prejudice DVDs and it's as good as I expected it to be. Even more so. I loooooooove it. It's perfect, ok almost perfect. (If they would have added just 3 scenes and changed 2 little things in general, it would have been absolutely perfect.) It's great. Teh Firth is teh sex. I love this thing he does when he isn't really smiling and yet he is smiling. Did that make sense? Watch the part in Pemberly, you'll see. I thought I was like the only one who hadn't already seen this, but looks like I wasn't. Serioucely, if you haven't, WATCH IT, DAMNIT!
The only extra on the disc is a big dissapointment. Woa. And the booklet? I think there's even a picture of the old P&P version on it. The cover is pretty ugly too. Thank god the actual series if so good that I can totally overlook that ;)
Obsessed/inspired with all the greatness that was P&P I rented Sense & Sensibility, which I also wanted to see because it's an Ang Lee movie. It was nice. Just nice. Not enough focus on the couples I think though. And it seemed like they cut one of the best scenes. But it was OK. Alan Rickman was great.
Then there was Hope Springs. It started out pretty good with the opening scenes, but then the whole movie got ... lost. Everyone just did something and I ... got lost too. I did get the feeling the book it's based on, might possibly be a very nice book, but in the movie it felt like they left out a lot of (too much) vital things. However, Colin was good and hot and that was enough to keep me watching. I'd probably say the movie was really bad if it would have been with any other actor than him. I made caps of some scenes and uploaded a few. More and bigger versions are
here.
I also watched Mansfield Park which was on TV this week. I knew I had seen it before but I thought I had forgotten most of it. When watching it again I realised I hadn't forgotten it and I didn't like it that much this time either.
Then Bridget Jones's Diary, which is always fun to watch, followed by Hope Floats, which was pretty boring again.
As for TV series
- The OC finale - a big dissapointment.
- Joey, the 2 first episodes - dissapointment. a few laughs.
- the unaired Buffy pilot - OMG so bad. I'm surprised they gave it a thumbs up after seeing this!
- the rest of the first season of That '70s Show - soooo good.
Dude, this turned out to be a long post. Starting tomorrow I'm going to try to be productive and not lazy. uhmmm ... at least I've got a 'plan'.
