The Day Before Christmas

Dec 24, 2006 09:39

Sorry its not that great, ive been up less than 20 minutes and it just came to me....

Twas the day before christmas
when all through the store
The people were swarming,
crying "more, more, more!"
The stock was piled on shelves with care
But the people asked questions like it just wasnt there
The parents were angry,we ran out of wiis
while children were home, trying not to freeze
And the associats and I, in our blue vests
With long suffering sighs, awaited our rests
When back in recieving, there arose such a clatter
I ran from the sales floor, to see whats the matter
Shoved open the doors, and ran down the hall
To see if wiis had come in, once and for all
The recieving team, all clustered back there,
Were lounging around like they had nary a care
For its christmas eve, and weve gotten to freight
I guess till this Tuesday the customers will wait.
When around the corner, i spied some objects
Which looked like they might have come from Fedex
I checked with the managers, they had no clue
So I wondered, what was the right thing to do.
Finally, sweating, i worked up the nerve
For in my job, the customers i serve
I sliced open the box with a feeling of dread
With visions of Wiis dancing in my head
As the box falls open, I see that im right
But a letter on top, sits there in plain sight
Its addressed right to me, from that man of the season
It reads "Dont tell the customers, these are here for a reason!"
"I thought that you guys, worked all too hard
Dont prove to me im wrong in that regard.
These are for the associates, one and all"
With tears in my eyes, i could not recall
A christmas more wonderful, or strange this way
When Old Nick sent presents without his great sleigh.
I hid the box until that evening at six
When we closed the doors, our stock to fix.
When I brought out the boxes, and showed them the letter
And when everyone went home, they felt that much better.

Now this story isnt true, thought it would be nice
Happy holidays from Wal-mart, I hope this will suffice!
