Fall. A good time to try and get back in the swing of things. So I'll ignore the year of not posting and just say a bit of what's joyous right now.
I've found a new group to dance with! They are called Thrir Venstri Foetr or Three Left Feet for those of us who can't pronounce Old Norse. Check the website at
http://www.wam.umd.edu/~eowyn/3LF/ It's medieval dancing in the English Country Dancing style. My daughter Fiona and I used to dance with a group in Baltimore, but stopped when she got busy with high school. But my extra daughter Megan got me into this group and I thank her. Now I have an excuse to try and do some music too...
Megan is also helping me sort through years of accumulated stuff that has threatened to take over my house. Progress is being made, but there is much yet to do. Yay, Megan!
Lastly, I had a delightful summer with my folks in Michigan, capped off with walking the Mackinac Bridge with my mother, two brothers and a nephew on Labor Day. Not too bad considering how out of shape I was a year ago, and that I am still over 300 pounds (but less than I was.) I made the full 5 miles of the bridge plus the extra miles in town to the parking, but I was very tired and sore. It was beautiful, though, and well worth the effort and putting up with 57,000 other people walking the same bridge on the same day. I was around the 35,000th to cross according to my certificate. Megan is also helping me keep up with my walking, now that I am back in Maryland. Double yay, Megan!
