I wonder when this summer is over if I will feel like I had a summer. Of course I had a summer, just not one like the years that I've grown accustom to. Five weeks of class sort of drain you of the usual summer-like aura. But the rest of the summer will no doubt be bonkers.
Friday I leave for Chicago to attend Pitchfork Music Fest. I'm pretty excited to be there, but I must say I'm very sad that I'm missing Berea Fest. I just don't understand why everyone had to pick this weekend to have their summer-explosion-extravaganzas. I'll miss Papermoons on Friday too, but there are so many people and friends I want to see at Berea Fest. However, I will hope to have my own fun. And I will. Then, once we get back from Chicago, we depart for tour with Delay. I'm excited to be hanging around those dudes for a week and half straight. I could definitely use some of their consistent positive energy. My only concern is how my body will handle the rigors of this trip. I'm really gonna have to manage my food and my meds very carefully. But other than that, I couldn't be more excited.
Once we get back from tour, we're gonna start working on our first full-length album. I sort of wish we could knock that out before we depart, but I suppose it will be good to give the new songs a test run on the road. I'll probably say more about this later.
