Winter Break Hangover

Jan 04, 2005 21:56

Ugh. First day back. I feel like I have a winter break hangover. Is this supposed to happen? Well anyways, it's snowing outside now, so maybe I won't have to go to school tomorrow. I doubt it.

I started to new classes today. Art 3 and Creative Writing. Art 3 is really stupid because it's combined w/ Art 4 and Art 1 so the older students are supposed to mentor the art 1 students. I'd rather just work on art than mentor. Creative writing is cool though. I already have two assignments. One was to write a two page autobiography in a journalistic style, but rather as a reporter. I guess that I am happy with mine. I think I shall post it too, just because it's an autobiography and it is my journal.  I really just hope that it is a snow day tomorrow.

It is dark and quiet. You have been waiting for it to come, when all of a sudden you’re satisfied when the cameras pan to a handsome man with a bright smile. He shuffles his papers, looks at the camera, and starts.

“Good Evening. You are watching RPN, the Random Person Network, where we spotlight random, ordinary people living in the suburbs of the United States twenty-four hours a day. My name is Chet Wrockman.

Our spotlight for tonight is a girl living in the city of Colorado Springs, CO. Her name is Victoria Pies age seventeen. Perhaps you may have seen her on the street, because she has not always lived in the town of Colorado Springs. It was a crisp morning when Victoria’s life began on November 10, 1987 in the town of Lake Forest just outside of Chicago. Her time there was very short, and soon she proceeded to England, where she would preside until she was five years old. She gained an accent from that country, but lost it almost immediately after returning to the states. She also gained a little brother.

Once she had returned, she lived in Montana, and attended a Lutheran school. Victoria acquired her first dog, which she named Cody. Much like in England, she would live there for only a couple of years and then journey to Kansas.  At this time her father joined the military as an Army Chaplain which made her destined to move about for the rest of her childhood. Yet again in Kansas she attended a Lutheran school.

In the summer of 1999, Victoria and her family moved to Germany. She lived in an area around Frankfurt in a small apartment building. She was home-schooled throughout middle school and at the beginning of seventh grade, Victoria’s family moved again to a small village in the German countryside. While in Germany, she would discover her family’s German heritage. It had turned out that her family had long ago been royalty. She traveled to a small town to visit their museum and castle ruins. Victoria found out more about her heritage when she discovered that her great, great uncle Otto Pies had been imprisoned in the concentration camp Dachau for being a Jesuit priest. She was very excited about it when she had found out that he had escaped, but came back to rescue the other priests in his block before they would be forced to walk a death march across the mountains to avoid the U.S. Army.  Victoria’s experience in Germany would stay with her forever.

Victoria returned to the states in 2002. She lived in South Carolina for sixth months, and then came to Colorado Springs. Upon arriving, her father was called to serve his country and left the family for a year.

Victoria currently lives with her parents, brother, dog, and guinea pig. She loves to play the piano. She would like to attend David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennissee and become a music teacher. And that is Victoria Pies.”

“Coming up next, more random people! But first a word from our sponsor.”

Well. That's it for now. Good night and good luck to all those who are going back to school.
