So far at least three people have posted this so am going to as well...

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's Parker ...she likes money and cereal." I'd love it if everyone who's ( Read more... )

Since I know you like to do some crafty things, you get random craft facts. I am obsessed with doing all kinds of crafts - I try to set aside an hour at night before I go to bed during which I work on a random craft project while I watch Psyche reruns because they give me the giggles and I have sleep issues up the wazoo so the calmer and happier I am before I go to sleep, the better.

I think I've mentioned the miniatures, which I love doing - right now I'm doing the doll house, but I eventually want to do a miniature train setup that's designed around my office. I also do some cross stitch, some needlepoint (right now I'm doing a miniature needlepoint rug), lots of latch hook and I'm getting into felting (currently making a monkey). I love to paint everything. I am getting ready to make a pine cone wreaths from collected white pine cones, working on learning some woodworking, wheat weaving and I have a stack of stained glass books currently next to my rocking chair because I want to make one of those awesome stained glass lamps and stain the boring ceiling light panels in my kitchen with a farm scene.

So that's me and crafts - how about you? What are some of your favorite craft projects?

I started doing counted cross-stitch in college and then took up crochet, it seems that when left alone yarn breeds or something... I totally get sleep issues as I have my own, though I couldn't get in Psyche so I tend to things like the Big Bang Theory closer to bed time.

I haven't tried miniatures but I have spun my own wool into yarn using a drop spindle and I've made my own soap. I like to paint as well usually sticking to water colors and I have an air brush that I will someday get the hang of. I like stained glass but I've never tried doing it, I do however have a few books on stained glass and Celtic quilting.

I've been sewing things like yoga mat bags and SCA/Ren Faire garb for years and I have to admit I took a class on making latex clothing and that was different and I now own a black latex tank top...

Ooh, crochet is another fun one! I learned the basics of, but have yet to do anything useful with. I just have this horrendously ugly pink thing that I used to just randomly work on to relax and look busy on the bus in college. It's truly the ugliest thing that has ever been crocheted ;) My sister loves Big Bang Theory and keeps trying to get me into it and I can't explain Psyche. It's so counter to anything else I've ever liked, but I just love it.

Did the drop spindle work well? I hope. I'm about to get one because it seems by far the most practical choice (financially) and my goats are getting sheered for the first time this spring. I've never made soap, but I get scented pretty colored soaps from a local lady here and just love them. I'm impressed with anyone who can do watercolors - I'm terrible at them and I'm afraid I'm going to be terrible at airbrush, too, but I recently got an air compressor. The Celtic style is gorgeous!

That's fantastic! Sewing is one I've done very little of, but it's so nifty and SCA/Ren Faire clothing can be so beautiful. Ha ha! And I had no idea they had classes for latex clothing! That is truly priceless! As is the fact that you have a latex top ;)

I'm not really sure what to crochet... I made a ton of granny squares so I could probably put them together into a throw... My sister love Psyche and was the one that got me into The Big Bang Theory so in retaliation I introduced her to Numb3rs and White Collar and got her hooked on both.

I've seen videos and live demos of using a drop spindle but I wasn't really good at it, I probably should have practiced more but I got sucked into a belly dance class right after the demo. I don't think I'd make soap by myself... I get mine from a lady at the farmer's market she makes this Lavender-Mint that is amazing.

Latex clothing is interesting... I don't wear it often it gets a bit warm in summer and cold in winter....
