I think you listed most of the reasons I didn't end up going to SCAD when I was looking at colleges (way back when), I toured the school and all that and jsut felt that 1. Savannah was a time capsule that happened to contain an entire city (I think its cool they are almost the only decent sized Southern town that has an active downtown like it used to be, but I also see why we invented malls now as well.) 2. An "art" school wouldn't give me the education I needed. 3. The architecture program wasn't accredited. I will admit that number 3 was the biggie.
Anyway it didn't help, I went to a small liberal arts college that was private and gave me a scholarship...and had an awful time. I came out with a degree and no idea who I was or what I wanted to do with my life. I learned more in the 2 years after college than I did in 4 years of college. Not book knowledge, but personal knowledge. I didn't need to go to school for hte book knowledge either, I love to learn and read. Take a look at my 1000+ library and you will see a begining.
Advice? Hmmm, I can't give you any except, finish it up, you may just frame that sheepskin and let it collect dust, but to take a totally irrelavent analogy..
"You have to have a bra in order to be able to burn it."
Ok I am rambling, and I am writing a novel currently for nanowrimo.com but I have already decided that my next book which is a modern day fantasy similar to Gaiman and the like will definitly include you as my inspiration.
