Itsuki and Sae. There's not a lot of material and pairing anybody in Fatal Frame is weird so I SHALL EXPLAIN MYSELF CONCISELY TO MAKE UP FOR THIS. BOTH OF THEM are dead, and in the in-game present they never even interact. It's more about the events that happened before the game. I only started liking it once I collected a lot of in-game memos / photos; I was surprised to find that a bunch of Sae's image blurbs were things like "she only wants to see Itsuki one last time" and "mourning Itsuki's death." After that, I looked over the pre-game events again, and found that woah these two were actually really close - or at least Sae really liked him. Things like Itsuki telling Sae and Yae to run and not look back, and Sae being unable to resist throwing her head back one last time and looking at him. LITTLE THINGS. MADE ME THINK. And I'm a sucker for tragedy.
Can I not save anyone? Will anyone forgive me?
