Would it be ironic to complain about people whining? I VUNDER. Then again, I'm sure my perpetual ray-of-sunshinitude gets on my friends' nerves as well, so maybe it evens out.

I've recently become quite enamored with director Chris Cunningham's music videos! He's a wonderful artist. The eerie surrealness reminds me in the best way of Silent Hill (or at least 1-4) and most of his videos are for the genres of music that I like. (aka "you call this music?" music )

Here's a meme because I love memes! Stolen from fandom_memes, of course.

Fill in the following:

Six ships you're into right now
1. Neuro/Yako
2. Ulquiorra/Orihime
3. Soul/Maka

6. Jaffar/Nino

Three ships you liked, but don’t like anymore
7. Knuckles/Rouge

9. Renji/Rukia

Four ships you never liked
10. Ichigo/Orihime
11. James/Angela
12. Jet/Wave
13. Sasazuka/Yako

Two ships you're curious about, but don’t actually ship
14. Yosuke/Chie ( persona 4 people; haven't beaten the game yet. does this actually exist? )
15. Stein/Marie ( hmmm... )

QUESTION TIME

Why do you dislike #11 so much?

I find that they're just... incredibly boring. I don't know what else to say. There's nothing interesting about them - it's about as typical knight/princess as you can get. I feel like if Ichigo had retained more of his bad attitude from earlier in the series and the two of them had more interaction to build chemistry, I might have been interested, but as Kubo is presenting it now, it feels very sudden. Especially when each character has (imho) a much more developed platonic relationship with a different character (Rukia for Ichigo and Ulquiorra for Orihime) that could potentially turn into a cute and interesting romance... if this wasn't a shonen, of course.

Who is someone you know that ships #14?

Don't know anyone. I haven't looked in fandom yet because I don't want to get spoiled more than I already have been, s-sob.

What would be your ideal scenario for couple #3?

God, I don't know... These two are practically love interests already. ( they have their own song on the OST called "soulmates," seriously ) I'd like for it to be something natural because they're so close already. They're both teens and so it would be awkward and shy, of course, but I feel like the two of them have such a connection with each other that it wouldn't feel too uncomfortable. They unify their souls, man! - they have a deep bond with one another that's unique to themselves. Ideally, I'd see Soul being the one to make a first move in their relationship; since Maka has such a skewed and embittered vision of romance from dear Papa, she'd be reluctant to try anything, especially with her best friend. And since Soul is a cool guy, I can't see him making some kind of confession or anything like that. It'd just... happen. After a battle or after comforting Maka or something like that, he'd give her one of those "ur the bestest partner evar" looks and then bam! he'd just kiss her. ...ahahaha yeeeah.

Which is your favorite moment for couple #1?

S-so much to choose from. Hard to pick. Ummm... I'm going to go with Chapter 183 and onwards until Neuro and Yako reunite. They might have been splitting apart at this time, but for the first time, you get solid concrete evidence that yes, Neuro does care about her, he does see her as more than a slave and a worm, and he does rely on her and put faith in her. Both of their reactions to the falling-out show how deeply they care for one another and how much they need each other as well. Yako's is more obvious - she's a total wreck, slumped over on her desk for the whole school day and not saying a word to anyone at all. The glutton schoolgirl detective won't even touch free food because she's so depressed over the situation. Neuro, the demon with an apparent lack of caring about the loss of his minion? The first thing he does is try to dress Godai up like her as a replacement, then kick him out in defeat. Obviously this was intended for the lulz, but I like to think that it also shows how much Neuro just plain likes the girl. In addition, Neuro went to Aya and asked for her to sing a song to him. He doesn't explain why, but once she's finished, he says "It's useless. I still can't understand humans." Ah... The lazy, smug demon went all the way to a human jail to listen to one of his victims sing music he doesn't care about simply to try and understand Yako's feelings. That's pretty serious for someone like Neuro.

Not only that, but we earn some real winning lines from Aya about the two of them:
"Mr. Assistant [Neuro], too, is trying to understand humans... to understand you."

"There are probably times when the difference in species makes understanding difficult ... but I believe you two are still the best partners for each other."

And would you believe it. Still not canon at the end of the series.

How long have you been following couple #6? Since I played Fire Emblem the first time, so... a long time. 4 yearsish?

What's the story with #8? What made you stop liking them/caring?

I liked Kyon/Mikuru at the beginning of the show when I first started watching... They seemed cute and harmless enough. Of course, then all kinds of chemistry between Kyon and Haruhi started being dumped in, and I liked their relationship a lot more than his with Mikuru. It's much more boring in comparison. I'm sure Haruhi'd be proud of me for that choice, hahaha.

You have the power to make one ship nonexistent. Choose from #10 or #12.

Well, geez, not liking a ship doesn't mean I want it to fall off the face of the Earth... Probably 12, because I honestly can't see wtf the appeal is there other than "lead male and lead female birds!" She's cuter with Storm, but nobody ships that because Storm is fat.

Which ship do you prefer, #2 or #4?

Ulquiorra/Orihime, simply because I've been a longtime fan of it and their relationship is so very fascinating. Sweet, pacifistic, ditzy human girl and her cold, stoic and logical undead prisonkeep who yearns to understand the human heart? You can't go wrong.

What interests you about #15?

I'm a huge sucker for 'beauty and the beast' type relationships where one (or both) side, despite the other being very different / the other one being weird or troubled, cares about and accepts their partner. This pairing isn't quite that, but Stein overcoming his insanity issues with Marie's acceptance and help is a rather cute idea. Also, some of my friends like it.

Why did you stop liking #7?

I started to like Shadow/Rouge instead and found that couple to be far more interesting and meaningful than Knuckles and Rouge's playful and teasing nature. I can't see Knuckles and Rouge ever really becoming a couple because they don't understand one another that well and are often enemies or rivals. Not saying that they couldn't become a couple that way, but it seems like it'd be more like a fling than an actual relationship with Rouge's flirtiness and Knuckles' naivete.

On the other hand, I feel like Rouge cares quite deeply for Shadow, and because Shadow is a sharp and able-minded guy, isn't sighing at his antics/teasing him all the time. ( although when she does, it's pretty amusing ) Not to mention that I'm pretty sure Rouge only ever shows her nurturing side around him - she honestly does want to help Shadow work through his issues. Plus, they make a badass team already. I actually couldn't care less if they ever actually reach the romantic stage - as long as they keep having that fun, caring and cooperative nature with one another in future games, I'll be happy.

Did your waning interest in #9 kill your interest in the show?

My interest in the show is getting killed, but it's not because of Renji and Rukia, no.

What’s a song that reminds you of #5?

"Morning Grace" by Ritsuko Okazaki and "Tell Me Lies" from the movie Cats Don't Dance.

If you could have any of these two pairings double-date, who would it be?

Abel/Esther and Soul/Maka but mostly because of roleplayedingly lmfao. Maka and Abel would be like /STARES AT THE OTHER EXPECTANTLY and Soul and Esther would be like what are we doing here. you know what I don't even know.

Have #2 kissed yet?

I wish.

Did #4 have a happy ending? If the show hasn't ended yet, do you think a happy ending is likely?

Not over yet! Because it's a shojo manga, I'm inclined to say yes, but because it's so very unusual for a shojo manga and it has some pretty dark themes, I'm not entirely sure... Especially because of Abel's need to repent, I get a nagging feeling that it won't end happily for him. At all.

What would make you start shipping #14?

Beating the game and finding some fanart and fic online. I'll search when I'm done...

If only one could happen, which would you prefer, #2 or #6?

This is easy, because #6 can happen already! #2. even though it's kind of screwed over now

You have the power to decide the fate of #10. What happens to them?

Happy ending - Ichigo and Soul Society save the day ( and Orihime! ) and beat back Aizen. Ichigo goes back to being a Soul Reaper, and everyone returns home to live a relatively normal life. Also, it'd be nice if Orihime healed Ulquiorra and Grimmjow and brought them back to Karakura, too. They can get Gigai or something like that. I'm seriously hoping that Ulqui and Grimm live somehow and get to have their own happy endings...

Which do you dislike the most?

Sasazuka/Yako. I just can't see them as a couple. At all. It's kind of incesty to me since Sassy's always saying she's like his little sister, and the idea of an adult policeman dating a little high school girl kinda grosses me out... ( I know I'm a hypocrite, but I'm going to let Neuro slide because he just doesn't act like a human in the first place. Besides, he's probably like... 700 years old anyway. It becomes obsolete at that point imo. )

Which of these ships do you love the most?

I'm going to go with Neuro/Yako. I can't help it fffffff their relationship is so complex and touching.

bleach, soul eater, ship ship ship, neuro, meme
