That Artsy Reader Girl January 14: Bookish Goals for 2025 (How many books do you want to read this year? Are you hoping to read outside your comfort zone? Are there books you meant to read last year but never got to? Are there new-to-you authors you’re hoping to read?)
How many books do you want to read this year? I set the Goodreads goal at 30 because that is what I set it at every year. But in actuality it's more between 60 to 75 books.
I thought about doing Are there books you meant to read last year but never got to? because yes, of course there are.
But instead of combing through a list of books I didn't get to last year and being disappointed if I don't get to them again this year, I'm going to keep it real. These are actual goals.
1) To read more physical books on my TBR. To do this I am going to try to read at least 2-3 books a month. Depending on the amount of pages and if it's 30 or 31 days that month, it might be 2 books. I think I can read 3 if they are short books and there's 31 days.
2) To accomplish that I'll have to spend more time reading. Which means not just reading during my lunch break. I'll have to read on the bus instead of napping and reading on the weekends too.
Other than adding those two things I'll keep doing what I have been doing. Stop impulse buying and borrow from the library instead. And don't pick up free books from Comic Con just because it's free. Look it up on Goodreads first. And unhaul books I didn't love and won't read again.
