Little Italy staring Hayden Christensen and Emma Roberts.

I watched Hayden's movie Little Italy today on Netflix because it's leaving the streaming service on October 13 and here is my review:

The trailer (I remember watching years ago) was deceiving. I thought that Hayden's character and Emma's character hated each other as adults and that the whole movie was about their cooking rival. It was more about two childhood friends who won't admit they are in love.

I also thought it took place in Manhattan and it takes place in Canada (Toronto.)

I liked it more than I thought I would. Some parts were funny. Some parts were really silly and over the top, but I was expecting camp from this romcom.

Some jokes were too crude for my tastes.

The part when the lady cop [Spoiler (click to open)](high on pot) was frisking Hayden, (which would never happen - male cops frisk men and female cops frisk, at least they do at TSA) was right out of Saturday Night Live. Like the lady cop could have been Cheri Oteri. It was uncomfortably funny.

I did like the grandparents, Carlo and Franca.

Overall, I liked the message about choosing family and love over career.

A solid B.
