Lots of thoughts you have! I agree with a lot of what you said, and even where I don't (or where I'm maybe just not as bothered as you), I totally get your point. It's interesting to me how this movie seems to have divided the fans so much.

I was totally wondering about Luke's hand in Rey's TFA vision, but I never saw anyone mention it, so I thought maybe I missed something!

I don't know if the Knights of Ren were there when Kylo destroyed everything, but TFA sure did make us think that... I too would have liked to learn more about them. The shirtless scene totally felt like fanfic (I loved it, though!)... I think he was wearing a cummerbund type thing? I wanted to know more about how Snoke managed to influence him, too. I loved the story behind Palpatine seducing Anakin, it was so masterfully done... especially with the novelizations adding to it... would've been nice to see something similar, but where the hell would they have time to fit that in, right? It wasn't important enough to make it a subplot.

I liked Rose, but not Finn/Rose. Does anyone see romantic chemistry there?

Leia's Mary Poppins maneuver didn't sit well with me after a second viewing too... was hoping I'd appreciate it more after getting over the surprise, but nope. I don't like how she slapped Poe, either. I mean... really? Words aren't enough? But I liked their mother/son dynamic.

I also didn't feel a connection to Holdo, and didn't like how disrespectful she was to Poe.

Word on the street is that Rey's parents can be "made important" again in the next one, they can just say Kylo lied if that's the direction they want to go. I like that part, though! I like her being a nobody. That lightsaber connection could just be due to how strong she is in the Force?

I felt bad for the abuse Hux took. I would've liked to see more of a pissing match with Kylo about who's in charge.

Oh and YES I hope Chewie ate those porgs that were already dead and cooked. Wasting food is bad!

Thanks!

Luke's hand - I read on a site about Easter eggs that you can see the blaster shot on it from RotJ and that perhaps he took off the synthetic flesh as a reminder of the events from that time.

Why introduce the Knights of Ren and then forget them? SO annoying. LOL

The cummerbund just cut his torso in a weird way. Just sport the low-rise look like your grandpa.

I wanted to know more about how Snoke managed to influence him, too. The more I think about it the more I think this trilogy should have been about Ben's fall and Snoke's rise, not the aftermath.

Same here. I like them as friends.

I do wonder now that J.J. is back if he's going to go back and change that. He's not always consistent.

I don't feel bad for Hux because he's such a space Nazi, but I just can't see how a joke like him rose so high.

Wasting food is bad! Yes! It is. Don't let them die in vain.
