Saturday, October 12: Day 2 continued
After the Star Wars Rebels: The Might of the Empire panel sis and I went to get our photos signed by Anthony Daniels. He is so nice and welcoming. When we got there he was on a break but came back shortly. He came down the line and greeted everyone with a handshake and small talk.
When we went up to the table to get our photos signed, he was talking to a woman a few people in front of us. It was a bit hard to hear but they were discussing Han Shooting First. LOL. Anthony didn't understand why it mattered. He turned to us and asked, "Who shot first?" We exclaimed, "Han!"
Anthony responded, "But why does it matter?"
I said it was because him shooting first means he's a badass.
There was also a man in front of us getting a photo from the table signed for his friend. When Anthony asked if he was a fan too and the man said he was, Anthony signed a photo for him too, no extra charge.
Victoria told Anthony her favorite line of his is when he tells R2 to "switch off" and asked him to signed the photo with the quote. He did. LOL
I told him I love the line (and find ways to use it in everyday situations), "I'm standing here in pieces and you're having delusions of grandeur!" He said something about standing on one leg and with a prop in his hand. I forgot the exact words.
After the signing we wanted to see the screening of NBC's Dracula and knew the room would fill up so we lined up and our friend Patty saved us seats in the second row.
First was sat through the panel for Futurescape with James Woods and a few science professors. The show is about science, obviously, and our future. Example: Artificial Intelligent voting right?
I thought one comment from James Woods was very funny and a good dig to the failed website to sign up for affordable healthcare. He said something along the lines that in the 1960's we were sending men to walk on the moon and now we can't even design a website. BUUUUURN. :P
I did not know James Woods went to M.I.T.

This man, who was in the Armed Forces, was paralyzed from the neck down while fighting. Scientist made this backpack and leg device that aids him to walk for a short period of time each day. I can't explain anything beyond that, but it's INCREDIBLE!

NBC's Dracula Screening.
It was good. I bit hard to follow. However, I am still watching the show and caught in to who is who. We'll see.
Wish the cast had been present for a post-screening Q&A. What was cool was that they gave out copies of the original novel. I tried to read it. Got 64 pages in and gave up. Sorry, but I was bored. Why was it written though letters and diary entries? Why is there no letter from the title character's point of view!?
Sunday, October 13: Day 3
First thing was a book signing with Jason Fry and Ashley Eckstein.
Ashley is always super sweet and I just love her. We talked about the podcast she did on her birthday with The Force Radio; monkey bread - which I must try one of these days; and how I am hoping Ahsoka (and Ashley's voice) make an appearance on Star Wars Rebels.
I love how Ashley signed the page with the last scene of the show and Ahsoka's last words to Anakin, "I know..." :(

Anthony Daniels Q&A was not a standard q&a. He is a showman who knows how to work the room. He started off by asking us who has seen Episode I and so on. Of course the whole room has and he thanked us for giving him a job and paying his salary all these years. LOL. He said he could not talk about Episode VII because the walls have ears, shaped like Mickey ears ;) Though he did slip at one point! When a man pointed out that C-3PO has been in all the episodes Anthony said [yes] "I have been in all seven." OOPS! LOL
One man asked why doesn't Darth Vader recognize Threepio in the OT. Anthony's jest response was comical. "Who gives a shit?" Just like the Han shoots first debate. So he gave the question to the room, I raised my hand and Anthony called on me. I answered, "He does, he just doesn't care." Anthony mocked a gesture of hurtful shock and the room laughed. "Because he's a Sith!" But I doubt anyone heard me say that last part.
The best part was when he found people around the room to their character impressions and then directed them in doing a scene from A New Hope, when Threepio and Artoo have landed on Tatooine. There were sounds effects and music, and scenery - all played by a selected group from the audience. LOL

Sleepy Hollow cast signing. Sis and I forfeited the Sleepy Hollow panel to line up 2 hours early for the cast signing. It paid off. We were part of the first 10 in line, got photos with the cast, and got to say a few words to them. I told the executive producers/creators, Alex Kurtzman and Len Wiseman, I liked the dynamic between Abbie, Jenny and Ichabod. I said Happy Birthday to Katia Winter and that I hope to see more of her background story. She said we would see more of her and Ichabod's past. I told Tom Mison that my friend and I call ourselves "Ica-babes" which amused him and he said he never heard that term before.
I can't remember clearly now, but I think I said to Nicole Beharie that she was badass and I liked her chemistry with Tom. Then I asked Orlando Jones if he came across any good fan fiction recently. He said he posted one on his Tumblr, which I started following. (I must admit I don't go on Tumblr very often. Not enough hours in a day.)
