Just getting around to writing this up. I love when Jewel performs live. She really knows how to connect with her fans. She tells heartfelt stories and has a good sense of humor too. Which is why her songs are written and sung with such soul and pure emotion. I honestly cried a few times during her performance, especially during "Hands" and "A Boy Needs a Bike".
This was the playlist: Near You Always, Absence of Fear, Satisfied, Hands, Nicotine Love, Haunted, Down So Long, A Boy Needs a Bike, Jupiter, Tiny Love Spaces, Intuition, Standing Still, Foolish Games, Two Hearts Breaking, You Were Meant For Me, Who Will Save Your Soul, Help Me Make It Through The Night, Chime Bells.
I also really loved that the fans can *buy a recording of the night's performance from tunesontour.com. I can relive the night any time. :) Like, right now! Also saves me from having to bootleg the whole night. I can then really enjoy the performance.
*With the download code purchased that night.
I took only a few photos:
This is when she couldn't find the song "Painters" in her binder. A fan requested it and she had not performed it in years. She writes them but can't always remember them. LOL And then she asked someone off stage help her find the song. She didn't end up singing it anyway. That's ok. It's long and sad. I was happy with the playlist. But this moment was so funny and cute, and just down to earth.
Some fans then came up to give her some flowers. One guy, Ethan, when he came over to give her flowers he must have said something about playing guitar too because she invited him up on stage with her. Of course he took a moment to tweet about it. LOL He played her guitar as Jewel sang, "A Boy Needs a Bike." I'm glad to have heard that one. It's a favorite of mine that is not on an album. I have a bootleg-live recording of it somewhere. And now I have an official version on the downloaded performance!
