I swear...

...that I haven't been putting off updating my journal! I get so caught up with other things that I kind of loose track of time and then poof! It's bedtime! So let me fill you in with what's been juicy this past week.

Training...Finally?
So Wednesday and Thursday I had training over at the Sheriff's Communication Center in LA. The first day was pretty boring, seeing that I already new the basics on how to use the computer terminals in the office. We really didn't do any sort of practice or run thus of actual calls. Those came in the second day, and I think I was kicking butt, but that was cause I already know some of the more important radio codes by heart, plus more or less I know what kind of info needs to go into a call.

But when we were doing our practice 911 runs with recorded calls, there was one that was all too familiar. If any of you live in the area (I'm not sure if it was on the news nationally) you'll probably remember a guy who killed his kids by lighting a bbq in the house, sealed up all the doors and windows... and the rest is history. The call was strangely haunting, but interesting... And I think that's how I learned the most about how to take certain 911 calls.

It's becoming more of a reality!
Tomorrow, Annie and her mom are going to be looking at the perspective apartment that we've been approved for! Unfortunately, I'm going to be here at work during their viewing time, but I'm gonna make sure annie takes pictures and videos for me so that I can see them when I get off. But this is really exciting! This may actually become a reality by the end of the month!! I just hope that it's someplace livable... cause if it's a piece of crap... then it's back to the drawing board with us... and a new hunt. But I'm really confident that it'll be okay, and we'll be able to move out and be adults!

...and then I can have my kitchen... and bar... and massive video entertainment system... and and and... STUFF!

Those are really the only major things that have been going on here. Annie and I are doing very well, and very happy. My work is becoming more tolerable, as I have made a temporary move to am shifts. Only thing is that I have to be up at 5 in the morning to be at work by 6. But other than that... it's really really nice to have the evenings free, and in 2 weeks, I'll be on a M-F 7-3 schedule through the middle of April, which is even more exciting! So yeah, it's all good in the Frosty hood...
