Torch Songs in Sultry Keys
I bought a songbook today (title above). I <3 it much. A few excerpts:

It begins to tell 'round midnight, 'round midnight. I do pretty well till after dundown. Suppertime, I'm feeling sad. But it really gets bad 'round midnight. Mem'ries always start 'round midnight, 'round midnight. Haven't got the heart to stand those mem'ries, when my heart is still with you, and old midnight knows it too...
I think I've found a song in that book for everyone I know (seriously, I have...if you want to know your song just ask lol). I just love the music from this era; soulful and jazzy and bittersweet. Can't wait till sunup so I can play some more. On the piano, that is... guess i might have to wait till at least nine though :\ drat.
