When I hear the always rising death toll from the quake in Asia it really makes me think. It really shows how fragile we really are and that we should not take a moment for granted. This quake has killed so many, and nobody was expecting it. The only warning anyone got was the when they looked out to sea and saw the waves coming, and heard the horrible noise before the destruction.
Tomorrow, when we are celebrating the birth of the New Year that has come and you are counting down the seconds until the ball drops, think about your loved ones, your friends, your family. Take a second or two out of the ten and look around you and be happy that you are warm, have a full belly and are with people that care about you. Take a couple of seconds to think about the past year, the good, the bad, all of it that has brought you to the point and location you are at now. Finally, remember that things can change in an instant and your world can be turned upside down in a heart beat, so be happy that you have the chance to spend another year with the ones you love, and try and spread that happiness to all that are around you.
Live each moment as if it is your last. Kiss passionately, hug for that second or two longer, and remember to always tell the ones you love that you love them, because you never know.
