That's the thing. It's an hour long train ride from Paris to where she lives, and while I'm sure she wouldn't mind a day or so, the cost of that train ride seems kinda prohibitive to do it all three days ( ... )

okay so why is 1200 the worse case scenario??? you can definitely get much cheaper flights - under 900! that's even what my travelling agency called "standard"

for the hostels: 20€/night < 10 nights < 200€

why should travelling around in france be more difficult than anywhere else? that's europe - you hardly ever speak the language of the country you are travelling to... and your french is great mister.

but i REALLY REALLY HAVE TO INSIST on you booking the fucking flight tickets.
not kidding. i have to book those cheap-29€-train-tickets soon - we are already late and we'll need one more since assi's sister anne is probably going with us. so pleeeeease work on that. or tell me to book them for you. i'll send you the info-email i got from my travelling agency anyway.

coldplay concert: www.nuke.at

but i still think that 42€ is way too much money... especially considering that the festival will be already over by the time coldplay will perform...

aaaaand considering that you just HAVE to see spain ;)

And my parents still say to wait to book them, and I'll inform them it's cuasing you to drop f bombs.

seriously these 29€ train tickets have to be booked at least 3 months ahead... there's a very limited ticket contingent - if we don't get them we risk paying 2 to 3 times more...

Aye, I know. And I'll tell them today. It's just that if I wait to get the plane tickets, that shaves around four hundred off of that.

wait for how long?

Really close to when it comes time to go, actually.

But, let's stick to this schedule, just with me and Aprile flying into, and departing from, Vienna instead of Frankfurt. It'll work out.

sounds rather uncertain to me...
jesus christ i know that buying tickets last-minute is much cheaper, but a europe trip is not a last-minute thing

i mean what if you don't get the tickets?
and this whole 5.7.-25.7. schedule... that's tuesday to monday?!? are you departing from washington or arriving in vienna/frankfurt on the 5th? and especially for the train back from paris to vienna/frankfurt i'd need a specific departure time of your plane.

by the way this is the email from my traveling agency:

Die Richtpreise für Juli 2005 sind wie folgt:

Nonstop mit AUA p.P. USD 790,- / ca. ? 592,- + Taxen = ca. ? 700,- max. für 30 Tage gültig

via London mit British Airways p.P. USD 769,- / ca. ? 576,- + Taxen = ca. ? 720,- max für 12 Monate gültig
the email's from january and my dad told them that you were coming from new york, but it's basically saying that even with all the taxes a ticket to vienna would cost under 900 (and way under 900 with a stop in london ( ... )

oh yeah something very interesting - have we been talking about €2000 or USD2000?

USD.

And I thought in one of my sketches of the trip I had it so that all the dates were relative to Europe; so arrival would be the 5th after departure on a red eye in America on the 4th.

And by having the arrival and departure be Vienna, that solves some train issues because then you guys aren't taking trains to Frankfurt and there's some give and take as long as we're out of France by when the tickets say.

oh great cause i've been talking about € ;) whatever...

okaaaaaaay sooooo... then i guess i'll start organizing everything?? without worrying about your tickets? doesn't feel good... but you do know that i'll have to kill you if you don't get the tickets you want.

(oh and i would have been the only one taking a train to frankfurt - but yeah... vienna's even better)

oh and could you call aprile and ask her about this route - whether that's okay for her?

aaaaand we are very likely to stay in nice (nizza) instead of marseille or cannes - cause i've heard so many awesome stories about nizza (and you have to pay for the beaches in cannes...)

I'll call her tomorrow. Meaning Thursday. And I thought Nice was just Nice? I remember that from reading a book about Provence, maybe. Whatever. Beach. Yay!

And just out of curiosity, for our mountain adventure...does your pops have any lederhosen I can borrow?
