Need a little warmth in your life? This entry will be public for a short period of time.
Here are the first of many pictures of our
Trip to The Bahamas. This was taken on our walk to the 60 foot slides at The Atlantis Resort. Our time-share is connected to Atlantis, so we could either walk or have the shuttle take us. Yes, I did the 60 foot slide. With the 60 foot slide, you have a sudden death drop, and you have to close your eyes becaue you are going so fast and the water spray in your face is intense. The slide takes you underneath the world's largest Aquarium full of Silver Reef, Hammerhead, Nurse, and Black Tip sharks. Talk about intense. They don't call it
The Leap of Faith for nothing. For some reason, I forgot to take a pic of the slide, so you will have to do with the one provided.
Flowers and foliage, but don't ask me what kind. I have no clue. It was so damn pretty though.
Here is where Ash spent some valuable time. The kiddie Pool. Fancy heh? There are some very mini slides for the youngins.' This is also the side of The Leap of Faith Slide.
Here are my favorite things in the whole wide world. Palm Trees. They make me happy. I have a lot of things with Palm Trees in my house. This pic is part of the Atlantis Hotel, and the Stingray and Hammerhead lagoon. Pics of those coming right up.
Here were my favorite attractions at the Lagoons. I have no idea what type of Stingrays these guys are, but they are so damn beautiful and you can go
here to find out which is which. We call Stingrays, Stingrazors as Ashley affectionately calls them. Aren't there markings just beautiful? This was us walking along the walk-way looking into their Lagoon, which was more like a natural habitat for them. See above pic. I stood dangerously on the rocky edge to get this pic. Just kidding, it was small edge!
Here are your basic Stingrays. I fell in love with all of the Stingrays. They were my favorite little guys.
In the same aquarium was The Hammerhead Sharks. One of the most beautiful sharks in the whole world. I really almost wet myself when I saw them. This is not the best picture that I have of them. I have better ones that will be posted later! I still need to import four more files of pics to my computer, so yes there will be many more series of Bahama pics coming your way.
This was our first evening walk underneath and inside the Atlantis Aquarium. It was called
The Dig. It was open 24/7 and just amazing to walk through at all times. I got to meet this type of fish called The Parrot Fishes. Little buggers were hams in front of the camera. Later I will post the most amazing picture that I took of one floating on his side posing for the camera!
During our walk Through The Dig, we encountered this little Fella. The Grouper. Yep, he is not little. Neither were any of his buddies. They were huge. Just so that you can grasp the size of them, we took a pic of Ashley face to face with one of them. We visibly could see about 7 or 8 of them. Ashley really dug the Grouper fish.
Here were some more wonderful while walking through
The Dig, we encountered these guys. They were very interested in people and were hamming it up for the pictures. I really liked these guys. I had minimal lighting with this picture, so they are a bit blurry, but I loved the way they turned out.
Here was the biggest ham of the previous fish grouping.
The infamous and very deadly Lionfish. I love the big ass lobster behing the rock peaking his head around the rock. What a weasel. The Lobsters were huge. Biggest ones that I think I have ever seen in my entire 30 years of life.
