Andrea Cofino, a graduating Pace University senior, has conducted dozens of interviews with people from all around the world about their lives, sexual orientations and/or gender identities, and how homophobia/transphobia has affected them personally. After these interviews, she has taken their stories and created a spoken word poetry show, "OUT IN THE OPEN: Stories of Queer Oppression and Empowerment." This show is meant to combat the harmful effects that homophobia/transphobia have on queer and heterosexual communities alike.
