So. I'm in a lame ass one-time lecture thing right now about researching. LAME. So, clearly it's time for a LiveJournal update.
IT'S ELECTION DAY! GO VOTE! Sent in my absentee ballot like, two weeks ago. I BARACKED THE VOTE. I'm panicking, though, 'cause I truly don't know what I'm going to do if McCain wins. I feel like I'll go into a serious depression...along with a lot of the country. I'm going to an election watching party tonight. We've got a giant map and each time a state is won, we color it in with red or blue. Good shit.
I'm in a new show right now. It's called "The Facts Of Life: The Musical." It's a huge farce on the old 80s TV show, The Facts Of Life. We're workshopping still, the writers are writing music to fit our individual vocal range, and re-writing scripts. It's crazy, 'cause I'm going to be forever listed as "Original Cast." EEK!
I'm doing really well as far as auditioning goes. I'm really getting my resume and self out there. I almost always get at least a callback these days, no matter the venue...which is absolutely astounding. I've worked my ASS off to get better at auditioning, and it's really beginning to pay off. I'm also really doing good work in my acting classes and voice and movement. The training her is truly fantastic and at this point I'm ready and willing to do anything it takes to make it. My ambition is fueled daily.
I'm all around getting my shit together. I even work out every other day, and eat really healthily. I guess college life, life on my own, really suits me. I love the feeling of getting all my work done, and being able to grab my iPod and walk around Manhattan with music in my ears. Watching crazy Manhattan people in their crazy Manhattan lives...I also live right on the East River...so I can sit by the water, on the docks, as well. I love street performers, infinite Free Huggers, lots of cute puppies being walked around, and I love that in a massive city life New York...there are TONS of farmers markets where I can get organic produce, jams, peanut butter...everything. Not to mention the FREE yoga at Yoga To The People. Everything I could ever want or imagine is here. And it encourages me to waste no time...to get out and explore and be happy. What a brilliant city.
I got into Amateur Night here at Pace. It's actually really awesome, we always get a guest host. Two years ago it was Dave Chapelle, last year it was Flava Flave (I think that's his name?) I'm singing, "The Trouble With Love Is" by Kelly Clarkson. And I have the possibility of winning $1000. If I win...I want to take a trip somewhere. Maybe Florida, or maybe somewhere I've never been. Suggestions?
At any rate. My boring-ass lecture is coming to a close. So I've gotta wrap this up with a big-ass bow. Apologies if this was terribly boring...but if you got this far...you read it, so...it's your fault.
Peace out, girl scout.
