Warning I talk a lot about cameras in this post

So I have now purchased a total of FOUR cameras in the last calendar year. I know crazy right. My very first camera was a Cannon digital elph. It was only like 2.4 megapixels or something with 3x optical zoom. But it was a good little camera and took lots of photos for me. When I found out I was going to China I knew I needed an update. So I purchased a Kodak Z610. 6.1 megapixels and 10x optical zoom. It was pretty good and I was pretty happy with it until about a month later Office Max had a sale for a Kodak Z712 with image stabilization for the exact same price (7 megapixels 12x optical zoom). So I bought it and sold the other one at our Garage sale. So I took this camera to China.

It took fantastic pictures and I was extremely happy with it. When I got back my sister got this camera.

It is the V610, 6 megapixels with 10x optical zoom (no image stabilization).  The cool thing about this camera was the fact that the lens did not protrude from the very slim body of the camera. It was slim enough to fit in a pocket! So I again sold the Z612 on amazon to buy this V610. Boy was that a mistake! The image stabilization makes such a huge difference you wouldn't know! I could never get as clear of pictures as with my Z712 that I was just fed up. So I decided to list it on Amazon. It sold within 2 days! AND I made $75 off of it because I got it on sale! Anyway I decided to purchase the almost identical camera to my Z712. It's the new Z812. It's one megapixel more than the 712 and it has more advanced image stabilization. I'm SUPER excited! I just ordered it and I did expedited shipping so it should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. It looks like this.

Oh yeah it's  HD and has face detection technology that the Z712 didn't have. AND it was less than the money I got back from the V610! So needless to say I'm super excited (I just said that a few sentences ago didn't I?). It's bulkier than the V610 obviously but I think I'll be happier with the quality of photos that I get from it.

So my lesson learned that was so eloquently put by my friend Dave "Don't get rid of a camera that you're really happy with." Lesson learned I think I'll keep this Z812 for a while. Oh who am I kidding I'll keep it at least 6 months until I think I can sell it and get a deal on an even better one! HA!
