Komamura is a rather nice guy. I like him.

(And I feel rather guilty for killing him off in a major fanfic I'm co-writing with two friends, but hey, a lot of other people died too...)

From what I've seen so far, he mostly seems to be nice, except when he's being giant and aggro and rolling his eyes and baring his sharp little teeth in a scary way, and that's really only because his little mate ditched him and ran away to live with the Hollows. Which I can see would completely hurt your feelings.

(awww no! but then I suppose if loads of people get killed off, it's not like you're singling him out, so maybe it's okay. but noooo! who will do giant aggro-fox smash now??)

Ikkaku could do smashy stuff? Though admittedly not-giant aggro-fox-smash.

(I mention Ikkaku because he's one of the protagonists, due to, um, a lot of other characters ... shall we say, not being available? That's a nice gentle way of putting it. Other protagonists include Nanao and Ukitake. Let's just say that things went wrong for the good guys.)

I'm sure Ikkaku is very good at smashing, but since he isn't a giant fox and probably wouldn't yell "AAAAAIIIIIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZEEEEEENNNNN!" in a hilariously over-dramatic way, I feel he will not meet the high standards that Komomura has set for smashery.

(oh no! not Ikkaku's little mate with the fluffy eyebrow surely??)

This is true. Very few people can yell that the way that Komamura does.

(Oh, don't worry about him. I can assure you that he (Yumishika) is still alive and deeply concerned about his personal appearance.)

That yell is in fact his real bankai. It will be revealed later in the series. The growing-giant thing is just something that all dudes with foxes for heads can do. *wise nod*

(Phew! He is one of my faves, he's so silly and yet so terribly badass underneath it)

Admittedly Yumichika does have a teeny tiny little problem in the story, but it wouldn't be fun without conflict and problems, would it?

(This involved several of our protagonists running off to Hueco Mundo to try to fight Aizen personally for what seemed like very good reasons at the time, and a lot of the shinigami getting together for a big fights of Gotei 13 vs Aizen + Gin + Tousen + Arrancar. It went better for them in the genuine manga than it did in our version.)
