Once again your descriptions are so amazingly detailed and your writing just brings all of this to life. I'm loving every second of this story :)

That bit in Loyal Order of Corn where he finds the cupboard thingie and Mars and Simon get all excited for him and they're like, "Maybe Ned knows where your parents are or what your name is!" and he kind of shoots down their enthusiasm, but he does it in a way that makes it clear that he's so hopeful, and at the same time so terrified that nothing is going to come of it, OH it made me so sad for him.
Of course, right after that scene he goes back to his snarky ways, which ALSO make me love him but in a different way.
