- nicely executed background replacement (I wouldn't have known if not for seeing the cap) and I love the text. - the fakebackground and the lighting compliment the picture well. - good use of texture and the text works well in the overall composition of the icon. - The text placement and crop are great
Additional: - I love the text. - #1 Is especially pretty, if we'd had two Favorite's votes, I would have chosen this as my #2.
- This is really nitpicking, I love the crop and use of text, but Spock looks oversharpened. - Truthfully, this is a nitpicking vote only because I have to make an LF vote. Leaving the red panel behind Spock's legs complicates a simple, clean composition with "unnecessary" content. - the red panel behind Spock's legs disrupts the composition; a little oversharpened on Spock's figure.
I kind of guessed this would be my last week.... still, it was a good run for me (I thought) and I can't wait to see who ends up being our Last Icon Maker Standing.
Also, congratulations to Xafirah, I really loved that icon.
It's such a shame you have to go! I was really looking forward to seeing what you'd produce for the next few challenges. Thanks so much for participating :).
Thanks hon... and my pleasure :) I had SO much fun. I usually just do Stargate themed challenges, so it was really great trying out icons for other fandoms I'm into beyond just the one fandom that I'm so totally not obsessed with.
Ahh...nah it's good. I have a really good idea of where I went wrong with it (you know that little part of your mind that says 'yeah this doesn't work'? Yeah I should listen to that LOL). Thanks though.
I totally get what you mean. I had that reaction to that ghastly Julian icon I submitted a few weeks ago. Sometimes you've just gotta go with your gut, I guess.
I'm hoping you have a lovely Kira icon for the next challenge, you know ;).
- Great composition and use of text which fits this icon perfectly. - Excellent job removing the panel behind Spock, and the lines on the wall frame him perfectly. The font choice, coloring, and size is perfect. - Very creative! I love the inclusion of blue bars and the text. Very good icon!
Additional: - great removal of the panel behind Spock's legs; colouring is great.

That panel didn't even occur to me until I saw obaona's icon.
