1.

THE 39 STEPS. Splendid Hitchcock film from the 30's - refreshingly risque jokes, great chase sequences and adorable back-and-forth between the leads. Justin got this.

2.

THE IRON GIANT. Great animated picture from some years ago. Taylor, Justin and Craig got this.

3.

PARANOID PARK. Tricky stills? Maybe. Then again, whenever I see a shower shot in colour I generally assume it's Gus Van Sant. Credit to Craig for thinking it was American Psycho because of the card.

4.

THE COOK, THE THIEF, HIS WIFE AND HER LOVER. It seems nobody has seen this movie, which is unfortunate because it's one of the best I've ever seen. Between the amazing cast (amongst whom one can find a young Tim Roth and a full-frontal-nudity-prone Helen Mirren) and the production design by Jean-Paul Gaultier (responsible later on for the Cone Bra and the production design for THE FIFTH ELEMENT, amongst other things), this uber-sexual tragicomedy about violence and food is one of the greatest things around.

There was no 5.

6.

DER GOLEM. This was maybe just cruel. Nobody got it. Still, you really could have put two-and-two together there and figured it was the 1920 silent film about the jewish mythological figure. No?

7.

THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. Alot of people did not like this film. I was not one of them. It was uber-pretty, even if it got a bit doddling and off-track by the end. Craig, Taylor, Ali and Justin got this.

8.

THE LORD OF THE FLIES. Seriously now, there's a fat kid holding the conch in the second still. Craig and Justin have the shell!

9.

CHANSONS D'AMOUR. Trrrrrrrrrrrrrricky shots! Only Justin recognized this sexy-angsty-bisexual musical set in modern-day Paris.

10.

SUNSHINE. This was more pretty than actually good, but it was still a pleasant enough time. Justin, Taylor and Craig got this.

11.

AZULOSCUROCASINEGRO. I didn't really expect everyone to have seen this Spanish realist film from last year. My expectations were met. It doesn't mean it wasn't a fine film that you should all see.

12.

IN BRUGES. Fun Colin Pharrel picture. Craig, Taylor and Justin got this.

So...First Place, Justin; Second Place, Craig; Third Place, Taylor; happy Fourth, Gilly-Gilly-Giltow. Bravo and huzzah to all!

(And a Happy New Year, as well.)
