I have officially been invited to move to Hawaii with my long-time best friend Shannon. Officially.
In other news:
I woke up this morning to the Tyra Banks show. She had these three girls on there saying that "fags" were going to hell and that is the "perscription for fags, adulterers, and fornicators." They were using sciptural references to back themselves up. They were saying theat Tyra was a "fag-enabler" and thus, she should die too.
I was so pissed to see these people supposedly representing the Christian faith. These people are NOT Christians. They do not know the God I know. Of course they had another Christian girl who said whimpy things not related to a Christian point of view. She said, "God is incapable of hate. I am not homosexual, but these people should be allowed to exist." That is the voice of the evangelical community? I think not.
God is a god of love. It says, clear as day in the Bible, "God is love." He sent His son that endured a tragic death so that we could live better lives, not so we could live as slaves to His rules. God has rules set for us for our own benefit. However, God views us as perfect. He is able to separate the people He has created us to be from our sin.
I do think homosexuality is a sin. There is no question about that, but we are called to love in spite of that. I am far from perfect, and God loves me just the same. God never said that homosexuality is a sin worthy of hell. God said that all sins are worthy of hell. ALL have fallen short of his commandments. That is why Jesus took our place, so we would no longer be slaves to sin, so we would not hve to burn in hell and all that stuff. Jesus loves us and realizes we are imperfect creatures, but for a person to profess that they are "friends of God" when they put themselves above others as unfallen creatures..."Woe to you, you hypocrites!" Those are the words of the Bible I read!
I'm not trying to "save" anyone by this. I just got really pissed off at these women that were conveying God as hating anyone or anything that He created. That is blaspheme. I am here to say that is not God and not the cry of the church. These women will be the ones incurring the "wrath of God" they spoke so confidently about. That is the cry of hate-filled individuals who are looking to bring attention to themselves not to God.
