Flowers gathered in the morning,
Afternoon they blossom on;
Still are withered by the evening:
You can be me when I'm gone.
The offer had been placed right before him. He asked for more time, to which the other said, “When the Sakura blossoms wither, you must give me an answer: yes, or no.”
What was there to think about? He was ever so desperate to find that person, the one that he loved the most. He sat on the ground, amid the Sakura blossoms, weighing his options.
He thought that he had known everything about him when he assumed his identity: his personality, his battle techniques, how he handled different situations. Yet, he hadn’t a clue as to how he would’ve handled this. What would Zack do?
All around me darkness gathers,
Fading is the sun that shone;
We must speak of other matters:
You can be me when I'm gone.
He reopened his eyes and looked around: it seemed as though the sun had burnt out. The once-beautiful place that surrounded him looked completely decimated: the once-green grass was now that of a dead brown, the blossom tree bearing no more blossoms left to flutter to the earth below and the trunk was rotting away at an increasingly fast speed, and the remaining Sakura blossoms that were scattered about the ground… the Sakura blossoms. They had withered away, their soft, pastel-hue was replaced by a dark--almost black--colour, and fragile to the touch.
“Time’s up. What do you say, kid?”
What would Zack do?
A pause.
“I’ll do it.”
