1. How long have you been a Beatles fan?
I've always kind of been a fan of The Beatles... my Dad started my love when I was like 4 with his Yellow Submarine album (that would be 17 years now). Although my true passion obsession and need to learn about the boys and own every single album myself started in September 2009.
2. How did you discover the Beatles?
Both my parents are fans (both have told me about their experiences watching The Beatles on tv in the 1960s), so I discovered them through my parents.
3. Which "era" (early, mid or late) do you prefer and why?
Looks wise - Early (up to 1964). Music Wise i would say mid - (1965-1966)
4. Which album(s) is your favourite and why?
Well I like them all but I would say Rubber Soul and Revolver. Those albums have some of my favourite songs and I love how you can really hear the transition in where they were going with music.
5. Which album(s) is your least favourite and why?
With the exception of the song A Day in the Life I would have to say Sgt. Pepper. Yeah totally not going with the critics and millions of people who consider this the best album of all time.
6. What are your top 10 Beatles songs?
1. Can't Buy Me Love - It makes me smile every time i hear it, how can it not when you picture the scene from the movie AHDN
2. In My Life - I think it is one of the nicest love songs, it's simple and shows growing up and life
3. A Day in the Life - It's like the most wonderfully arranged songs ever
4. Abbey Road Medley Final part (Golden Slumbers/Carry that Weight/The End)
5. Sun King - brilliant harmonies and nonsense Spanish, Portuguese and Italian at the end love it.
6. Rain
7. While My Guitar Gently Weeps
8. I'm Down
9. And Your Bird Can Sing
10. Norwegian Wood
7. Are there any Beatles songs you really don't like? Which ones?
Revolution 9, Back in the USSR - it's not that i don't listen to them, i just tend to skip them when i hear them
8. What are your views on each of the Beatles' films?
Hard Day's Night: First time I saw this movie it was on TV and I loved it. It's funny and I feel that it captures that time in their lives quite well (at least the work aspects), plus it made me love Ringo.
Help!: I like the actual story of this film, by that I mean that there was more of a plot than AHDN. It was funny and you can see just how being high made the film funny and amusing for them and us.
Magical Mystery Tour: I tried to sit through and watch it, but I just got lost in it. It's good for a psychedelic film, but definitely my least favourite.
Yellow Submarine: First Beatles film i saw and i thought it was completely amusing. Now i know that it wasn't them doing the voices, but i liked the music and the children's story that has a lot of good allusions that i can pick up now im older. (I'm kind of excited to see the remake of it)
Let It Be: It's heart breaking. I mean watching the bad end like that is hard, but there are parts that are nice to see. George and Ringo working on Octopus's Garden, Paul and Ringo playing the Piano and the rooftop concert footage is golden.
9. Do you have a favourite Beatle? If so, who and why?
Ringo. After seeing him all sad in AHDN I just loved him because he was all sad. Although I have taken after my mom and I find that George is my second favourite (he's my mom's fave, she says she liked him because no one else thought he was cute, so she did)
10. What's your favourite solo John song?
Working Class Hero
11. What's your favourite solo Paul song?
Calico Skies
12. What's your favourite solo George song?
Wah Wah
13. What's your favourite solo Ringo song?
Never Without You
14. How do you feel about Yoko?
Indifferent. although sometimes it turns to anger
15. How do you feel about Beatle slash?
not really into any kind of slash
16. How do you feel about John's relationship with Brian?
He loved John... John loved women
17. Is there more to your love of the Beatles than just their music?
Their legacy, the friendship that was there in the early days and I guess the mended relationship the three remaining had until George's death.
18. Are the Beatles actually the greatest band in the history of music? Are they your favourite?
Yeah!! I mean this question shouldn't even be a debate, no other musical act can ever touch them.
19. Tell me one unusual/controversial opinion you have on the Beatles.
That the few songs George wrote are better than a lot of the Lennon/McCartney ones
20. Tell me one of your favourite Beatle moments.
Buying the box set of remastered stereo cds and maybe my brother giving me The Beatles Anthology on DVD for Christmas. Convincing my mom to buy me tickets to see the Cirque show Love for my birthday in July.
